Departments
Our work is organized into interdisciplinary departments that integrate research, implementation, and capacity building.
Department of Climate Change & Adaptation
Quantifying climate–health relationships and co-developing locally grounded adaptation strategies to reduce exposure to waterborne and environmentally driven infections.
Climate Health
Department of Antimicrobial Resistance
Genomics-enabled surveillance, transmission mapping across human–environment interfaces, and development of sustainable antimicrobial stewardship and alternative interventions.
AMR
Department of Contaminants of Emerging Concern
Monitoring microplastics, chemical residues, and environmental contaminants, and assessing their interactions with microbial risks and human health exposure pathways.
CECs
Department of Early Warning Systems Modeling, ML/AI & Data Analytics
Designing community-based early warning systems integrating environmental signals, pathogen data, and digital tools to support timely, locally actionable decisions.
Early Warning
Department of Pandemic Preparedness & Response
Developing field-ready surveillance workflows, genomic detection pipelines, and response frameworks to strengthen preparedness across community, health system, and policy levels.
Preparedness
Department of Gender Equity & Science Valorization
Embedding gender-responsive approaches and translating research into policy, practice, and scalable solutions to ensure equitable impact and uptake.
Equity & Impact

Projet BUILD
“Building Climate-Resilient Schools for Sustainable Climate-Health Preparedness” – a pilot project that links climate preparedness, safe water, and science learning in secondary schools in climate-vulnerable areas of southern Benin.
Targets
Participants
Secondary schools in climate-vulnerable zones of southern Benin (initially around lacustrine areas).
Around 250 students and 30 teachers across five schools in three Municipalities
Inclusion
Duration
At least 50% girls in Climate-Health Clubs, with child safeguarding principles applied.
18 months (pilot phase).
